What you can do with it

Add up to 10 sales and the calculator works out your estimated CGT for the year. It applies the €1,270 annual tax-free allowance, splits your results by payment period, shows you when each payment is due, and carries forward any unused losses if your sales span more than one tax year.

What it does not cover

This is a basic estimator. All values need to be in euro. You can enter either your profit or loss directly, or the prices you bought and sold at and let the calculator work it out. There are a few things it cannot help with:

• If you bought the same shares more than once at different prices, Ireland requires a specific method to work out which shares you sold. Our share cost calculator can help.
• If your trades were in US dollars, sterling, or another currency, you will need to convert them to euro first. Our guide to Capital Gains Tax explains how.
